UPPERCASE Magazine's Surface Pattern Design Guide

Always fun to get my UPPERCASE Magazine in the mail. And this week I was so excited to look inside to see my artwork featured in the Surface Pattern Design Guide in this issue.

Of course I am delighted to be included with all the amazing artists featured in UPPERCASE. That’s my artwork (far right side) in the newest issue no. 32! It’s a honor and a thrill to be chosen to be in the Surface Pattern Design Guide!  Thank you, Janine Vangool!

Chow Chow City Dogs Art at My Shop

I've got the perfect gift for dog lovers over at  my show. I just added my illustration of a Chow Chow to my City Dogs Collection. My inspiration for this illustration comes from my three dogs and all the dogs at the animal shelter where I work as an adoption counselor volunteer.

New Winter Floral with Deep Scarlet Shades and Jewel Tones

I popped my new winter floral with jewel shades into my fashion illo. Maybe a lush velvet top?

I love sophisticated jewel tones… especially those deep scarlet shades, inky blues, and fuchsia. Works well with denim or with a dressier look.

Putting together a lookbook with bold and bright floral designs for A/W 17/18. This  fashion illustration features my new textile design.

Spotlight on: Midnight Garden Collection

My Midnight Garden Collection is influenced by the winter florals trend that is dramatic and a bit moody with layers of bold textures and a rich depth that goes with the darker color palette.  I love working with deep plums, burgundies, dark jade greens and blues against a dark background. It's also fun to add that pop of orange into the mix. All designs are hand rendered prints with a digital twist.

Garden Party Floral Collection

The Inflorescence design challenge over at the Textile Design Lab at Pattern Observer recently wrapped up. For this challenge I created the Garden Party Floral collection. I created these designs with Spring/Summer 17 trends in mind.

My prints feature hand drawn florals that began with loose pencil and pastel sketches. I scanned the artwork and adjusted the placement, textures and colors in Photoshop.

Romantic Retro Floral

If you follow me over on Instagram, you might have seen a sneak peek of my new patterns.  Today I'm sharing a new floral repeat pattern with a vintage vibe. I love creating hand-drawn botanicals in a romantic pastel palette. I tested it out on this print on a cocoon coat fashion illustration I drew. Looks warm and cozy to me.
